Johnson contributes to athletic development

A much-anticipated, multi-purpose sport and recreation facility, The PowerPlex, opened its doors on July 3, 2008.

Built in the centre of St. John's, the state of the art centre supports the development of athletes and coaches from every sport in Newfoundland and Labrador.

Prior to this facility, the province was without a high-end sports centre for 7 years-a gap that impeded the growth and development of Newfoundland and Labrador athletics.

Johnson Inc. is a proud supporter of this initiative. This new facility enhances the province's ability to host national and international events in a number of sports and improves the training capacity of Newfoundland and Labrador based teams. It also provides much-needed capacity for recreational events and supports the development of a sense of community amongst young athletes.
