The British Columbia Retired Teachers' Association (BCRTA) has worked with Johnson Inc., a national benefits provider, to develop a voluntary benefit plan available to BCRTA members.
BCRTA members have access to a number of voluntary insurance plans including: Emergency Medical Travel, Home, Pet, Life, Long Term Care, Critical Illness, stand-alone Trip Cancellation, Dental and an Extended Health Care (EHC) plan that includes Prestige Emergency Travel. Dental and EHC are new benefit plans effective September 1, 2015. The EHC plan is an alternative to the EHC coverage that you may already receive through the Teachers' Pension Plan, through Pacific Blue Cross (PBC), and the MEDOC travel insurance plan from Johnson Inc., through the BCRTA.
BCRTA members may apply for the EHC w/ Prestige Travel Plan at any time without providing medical evidence provided the application is made on, before or within 60 days of terminating group insurance plan coverage. Members without group insurance coverage or those applying outside the 60 day eligibility period require medical evidence of insurability and may be declined coverage.
For more information on these products and benefit eligibility, please refer to the Plan Summary and Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) document, or view the Certificates of Insurance.
