Who We Are
Johnson Inc. was originally founded in 1880 and is one of Canada's leading Insurance and
Benefit providers. We offer Insurance, Benefits, and Services to over 900,000 Members and
Employees of Client Associations and Employers from over 40 branches, stretching from
St. John's, Newfoundland to Langley, British Columbia.
We have been operating as a Third Party Claims Payer since 1969 with a concentration in
group-sponsored association business. Our largest group is The Retired Teachers of Ontario
(RTO/ERO), a group of close to 50,000 members that until June 1, 2002 we have been paying
claims for on a reimbursement basis.
As of June 1/2002, Johnson Inc. are on-line and able to accept Pharmacy Claims.
As a member of the Association of Claims Exchange
(ACE), we are
accessible through Emergis (Emergis).
Johnson Inc. is compliant with the Canadian Pharmacists Association Claims Standard
version 3.0 provided by the CPhA for the transmission of drug claims in Canada. As well, we will
be compliant with CPhA 4.0 and the upcoming NeCST standard when released.
Johnson Inc. Drug Card
While Johnson Inc. drug cards may differ among Clients, we are working toward a common card for all
Clients. Although the cards may vary, there are several common characteristics:
- All cards have the Johnson Inc. logo clearly shown.
- All cards have:
- the Member's ID or Certificate number (# 9999999 in the sample below).
- Policy number(s) (# 777777 and 888888 in the sample below).
- Dependent information is not shown.

There will be two payment reimbursement options available:
In either case, our payment cycle will be every two weeks.
System Down Time
We will be able to accept claims 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. However, due to system maintenance,
our system will be unavailable Sunday mornings between 12:00 am - 7:00am EST.
